About Me

I am working in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University (HWU) as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate since April 2018. In my current role, I am part of the “Theory and Computation of Non-Conventional Flow Phenomena” group lead by Prof. S. Kokou Dadzie, working on the EPSRC funded project and supporting the group research activities. Earlier before Heriot-Watt, I worked as a national post-doctoral fellow at Indian Institute of Science on his own research project titled “Modeling Rarefied Gas Flows via Higher-order Extended Hydrodynamic Equations” which was funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Sashikumaar Ganesan, Chairman, Department of Computational and Data Sciences. Prior to this I was a Research Associate working on the project “Regularized Moment Theory for Granular Gases” at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore from July 2016 until October 2017 under the mentorship of Prof. Meheboob Alam. My research activities focus on the areas of Fluid Mechanics, Kinetic Theory, Granular Dynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Mathematical Modelling in which Applied Mathematics plays a fundamental role.

I earned my doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Fluid Mechanics (Applied Mathematics) from Engineering Mechanics Unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, India in 2016 under the guidance of Prof. Meheboob Alam. I obtained Master degree in Mathematics from Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India in 2007 and also earned my first university degree (B.Sc in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science) from Sri Krishnadevaraya University (Govt. Degree College), Anantapur, India in 2004. In 2020, I achieved the status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), UK and working towards FHEA. I have successfully completed Learning Enhancement and Development Skills (LEADS) programme offered by Learning and Teaching Academy, Heriot-Watt University and I was also awarded CSIR-UGC Lectureship (NET) in Mathematical Sciences which determines his eligibility for Lecturership / Assistant Professorship in Indian universities. I am always ready to take active participation in all professional developmental training and workshops in-order to further improve my teaching and research skills.
